Course Descriptions

Chorus Mixed Voices – OA

Understand basic music fundamentals through unison, two, three, and four-part choral music. Improve skills in reading music and the production of choral tone. Music selections from the Baroque, Romantic, Classical and Modern Periods, including Ragtime, Boogie-Woogie, and show tunes. Attendance at rehearsals and performances is an integral part of this course.
Music Appreciation – OA

Study of eras, styles, composers and components of music. Listening to music with group discussion.
Musical Experiences – OA

Musical activities stimulate and sustain auditory perception, discrimination, and manual dexterity. Learn about music, new and old, by listening, singing, playing and creating music with others.
Orchestra Workshop – OA

Play the music of today and yesteryear. Performances are part of the instructional program. Enroll anytime.
Piano 1-2 – OA

Chord theory, ear training, improvisation. Learn how to play from a fake book containing only melody, lyrics and chord symbols. Beginning to advanced levels.
